Report claims the euro may cause skin allergy
SWITZERLAND - Euro coins give some people a skin rash and a group of Swiss scientists have just released their research findings as to why this happens.
The make-up of the coins means that they release much more nickel than other coins, and prolonged contact with them can cause itching, reddening and blistering on the hands of the 15 per cent of the population who suffer from nickel allergy, according to research published today in Nature, the respected London-based journal.
