Euro did cause price prices - Eurostat

GERMANY - The changeover to euro banknotes and coins might have added as much as 0.2 percentage points to eurozone inflation in the first half of this year, Eurostat, the European Union's statistical agency, said on Wednesday.

The estimate compares with the maximum of 0.16 percentage points that, according to Eurostat, the changeover contributed to inflation in the first three months of the year.

Consumer groups in several of the eurozone's 12 countries have complained that official statistics
