'Institutional repositories' can boost research – Bank of Spain’s Selgas

Organising materials in an efficient manner online can support research

The Bank of Spain is working to launch an "institutional repository", an online archive of research materials designed to aid sharing and collaboration, says the Bank of Spain's Joaquín Selgas.

An institutional repository is a way of organising the research output of an institution using common protocols to reveal the meta-data associated with individual pieces of research – title, author, ISBN and so on.

"It increases the accessibility of the materials," says Selgas, the Bank of Spain's chief
