Ukraine accuses Russian governor of crimes during occupation

Security service says Nabiullina organised effort to create “ruble zone” in Russian-controlled Kherson

Ukraine’s security service has accused Russian central bank governor Elvira Nabiullina of criminal acts connected with the invasion of the country.

The Security Service of Ukraine accused Nabiullina of helping to finance pro-Russian militia groups in occupied areas at the expense of local civilians. Nabiullina had “organised the introduction of the so-called ‘ruble zone’” in Russian-occupied areas, the SSU said in a press release issued on January 2.
