Polish Senate to decide on new MPC member
Opposition parties hold upper house majority and may pick more hawkish rate-setter
Rafał Sura resigned from Poland’s monetary policy council several months early, media outlets reported on July 18, with his successor likely to be nominated by opposition parties.
Sura’s term on the National Bank of Poland’s MPC was due to end in November. He is a lawyer and is leaving to become a judge on Poland’s Supreme Administrative Court.
