Yemeni governor sacked as crisis worsens

Deputy governor also dismissed in fourth sacking since civil war began

The president of civil war-torn Yemen has dismissed the central bank governor and his deputy, according to reports based on state media.

State news agency Saba said Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi dismissed the central bank governor, replacing him with Ahmed bin Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Maabq, Al-Jazeera reported on December 6. Hadi, or those acting in his name, also dismissed the deputy central bank governor, appointing Muhammad Omar Banaja.
