IMF ethics committee investigating Georgieva allegations
Executive board promises “thorough, objective and timely review” of alleged “improprieties”
The International Monetary Fund’s ethics committee has met with the fund’s executive board to discuss the next steps in a review of managing director Kristalina Georgieva’s role in “data irregularities” during her time at the World Bank.
“The board discussed the ethics committee’s deliberations so far and had a preliminary exchange of views on the report and the managing director’s statement in response to it,” said IMF spokesman Gerry Rice in a statement on September 21.
