Governor may be questioned in Switzerland over alleged money laundering

A magistrate in Lebanon has filed a complaint alleging neglect of duty by the central bank governor, state media in the country reports.

Judge Ghada Aoun charged Central Bank of Lebanon governor Riad Salameh with “job negligence and breach of trust”, the state-owned National News Agency says.

The complaint alleges that someone at the central bank diverted between $5 million and $7 million that was meant to be used to pay for essential goods. Aoun alleged in comments to Bloomberg that the money
