Shelton and Waller reach final stage of Fed nomination process
Both candidates received enough backing in first of two key votes, but neither escaped criticism
Federal Reserve Board nominee Judy Shelton received just enough votes from Senators on July 21 to advance to the final stage of her nomination process.
The Trump administration nominee received backing from all 13 Republican senators on the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. None of the 12 Democrat senators voted in her favour.
