Fed puts out statement, as meeting follows regular criticism of the Fed’s interest rate path from the president

Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell joined US president Donald Trump for an “informal dinner” in the White House on February 4. The meeting was arranged to “discuss recent economic developments and the outlook for growth, employment and inflation”, according to a statement put out by the Fed.
