Sudanese central bank president dies in Turkey

Hazem Abdelqader had served 18 months, and was third governor since March 2011

Sudan’s central bank governor died while on a visit to Turkey, according to locally based reporters, after serving around 18 months in the role.  

Hazem Abdelqader died of a heart attack, according to statements from his family and from the Sudanese president released on June 17. The Central Bank of Sudan has not yet made a public statement on Abdelqader’s death.
