Bahamas central bank chooses design for new headquarters

Central bank will bear cost of new building

The Central Bank of the Bahamas has unveiled its chosen design for its planned new headquarters, which it aims to be using by 2022.

Local architects Architekton Design Studio Bahamas won what a central bank official called an “involved” procurement process. Their design is based upon the central bank’s logo which depicts the sand dollar – a type of burrowing sea urchin.
