Finnish lawmakers nominate Olli Rehn to be next governor
Likely candidate is former European commissioner and economic affairs minister
A committee of Finnish lawmakers has nominated former European commissioner Olli Rehn to become the next governor of the country’s central bank.
The committee considered 10 candidates before unanimously deciding to send Rehn’s name forward to Finland’s president Sauli Niinistö, the Bank of Finland said. President Niinistö will need to confirm the decision to nominate Rehn, the bank’s statement added.
