IMF official backtracks on Kenya funding comments
Mikkelsen says Kenya has continued to have access to IMF resources “subject to policy understandings”
The International Monetary Fund’s representative in Kenya issued a statement on February 20 effectively retracting comments he had made to journalists saying the nation’s central bank had made inaccurate statements about having access to fund financing.
“Further to some press reports earlier today, I would like to clarify the status of Kenya’s fund-supported program,” the IMF’s resident representative for Kenya, Jan Mikkelsen, said.
