Move may increase humanitarian crisis, expert says
Yemen's president announced this week that the central bank based in Sana'a, the capital of the civil-war-torn country, was no longer the country's legitimate monetary authority, dismissing the bank's governor. The move could greatly increase the risk of a major humanitarian crisis in the country, an expert on Yemen tells CentralBanking.com.
Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi announced on September 18 that a new central bank was being established in the southern port town of Aden. Hadi said
