Hungarian central bank accused of illegal data transfer
The State Audit Office (SAO) of Hungary has escalated its row with the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) following Monday's highly critical open letter from NBH governor András Simor – yesterday accusing the central bank of unlawful behaviour and a string of irregularities.
The charge sheet published yesterday by SAO claims the central bank's operations were "not lawful from two aspects", namely that it passed "secrets" to the IMF between 2008 and 2010, and that its document management software did
