NGFS unveils climate stress-test scenarios

Group releases guidance document and data to help central banks tailor climate stress scenarios

The Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) released data and documents today (June 24) to help central banks conduct climate-related scenario analysis and stress-testing.

“As central banks and supervisors we have a responsibility to prepare for the potential impacts from climate change in a variety of possible future states of the world,” say Frank Elderson, NGFS chair, and Sarah Breeden, head of the NGFS’s macro-financial workstream, in an accompanying guidance document.
