The banking supervision department is looking to increase competition in the banking sector

Measures under way to alter the structure of the banking sector and thereby boost competition are beginning to show results, according to an excerpt from a recent Bank of Israel report.

The excerpt – an English translation of part of the full Hebrew report – says the banking supervision department was looking to remove barriers to information sharing, via so-called open banking, and encourage new entrants.
