Central bank expects inflation to start falling early next year

The Central Bank of Egypt held its key overnight deposit rate at 27.25% on September 5, as inflation in the country continues to fall gradually.

The monetary policy committee also held all of its other interest rates, which it judged to be sufficiently tight to bring inflation down further.

Annual headline inflation dropped to 25.7% in July from 27.5% in June, while core inflation fell to 24.4% from 26.6%.
