Economists argue regulators need to take action now to mitigate risks
Recent breakthroughs in the development of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) are likely to drive rapid change in the financial sector, with “broad systemic implications”, analysis by the International Monetary Fund finds.
GenAI is a “significant leap forward in AI technology”, IMF economists Ghiath Shabsigh and El Bachir Boukherouaa say in the paper, published on August 22.
