Lebanese judge arrests central bank governor’s brother
Judge is investigating governor Riad Salameh over alleged financial crimes
A Lebanese judge investigating alleged major corruption at the country’s central bank arrested the brother of the governor today (March 17).
Police working with judge Ghada Aoun arrested Raja Salameh, brother of long-serving central bank governor Riad Salameh, news agency Agence France-Presse reported. Aoun is the public prosecutor for the Mount Lebanon district and is investigating the two Salameh brothers over allegations of large-scale financial crimes.
