IMF extends deadline to implement increase in quotas

Executive board allows members to consent to and increase their contributions until December 27, 2019

The International Monetary Fund approved extending the deadline for member countries to consent to and increase their contributions under its 14th review of quotas, the IMF confirmed on August 6. The review was agreed by IMF member countries in December 2010, but some members have not internally secured the consent to increasing their contributions to the fund.

“As of June 13, 2019, five members had not yet consented to their proposed quota increases,” the IMF says. “Two of those members
