Senators urge Fed to investigate Trump and Deutsche Bank allegations

Whistleblowers allege financial wrongdoing by senior bank staff and transactions involving Trump

US Democratic senators have called on the Federal Reserve to investigate possible financial wrongdoing between President Donald Trump and Deutsche Bank.

In a letter addressed to Fed chairman Jerome Powell and New York Fed president John Williams, the senators urge the Fed to investigate allegations that senior bank officials repeatedly ignored the recommendations of their own anti-money laundering compliance experts.

The experts allegedly urged the bank to file “suspicious activities reports”
