Stress tests show major UK banks should withstand ‘disorderly Brexit’ – BoE

All large UK banks surpass risk-weighted capital and leverage hurdle rates

The Bank of England has said all of the UK’s major banks passed its latest stress tests and that they should be able to withstand a disorderly Brexit.

“The 2018 stress test shows the UK banking system is resilient to deep simultaneous recessions in the UK and global economies that are more severe overall than the global financial crisis,” the BoE says in its latest Financial Stability Report, published on November 28.

The BoE has not explicitly tested UK banks against its newly formed
