Bundesbank forecasts German growth will continue
Fiscal expansion will support aggregate demand in coming year, says Bundesbank
The Deutsche Bundesbank expects the German economy to prolong the current cycle of expansion at least until 2020, it said today (June 15).
“Overall, the projection paints a picture of an ongoing economic boom, in which increasing supply-side bottlenecks are reflected in strong wage growth and in higher domestic inflation,” said Jens Weidmann, president of the Deutsche Bundesbank.
However, the rate of growth is expected to somewhat decline in the years ahead. This year, GDP should expand by 2%
