Michael Bodson says central banks will always find a way to deal with crises, even without interest rates at their disposal
The chief executive of the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), a provider of key infrastructure to Wall Street, has said the “power and ingenuity” of central banks should not be underestimated.
Appearing alongside academic Hélène Rey at the World Economic Forum today (January 24), Michael Bodson discussed whether central banks had the tools to weather another financial crisis, given interest rates were so low.
