Irish central bank’s consumer protection plan focuses on firms’ culture
On-site inspections of consumer risk frameworks to be ‘enhanced’
Creating a "more consumer-focused culture" in the financial system is one of the Central Bank of Ireland's main priorities as it looks to bolster consumer protection this year, according to a report it published on February 2.
Other goals include ensuring the consumer protection framework is "fit for purpose" and financial firms are fully compliant with their legal obligations and are treating their customers "in a fair and transparent way".
