Netherlands scheme widens scope of guarantees and introduces risk-based ex ante funding
The Netherlands Bank announced it had launched a new deposit guarantee scheme on November 26, in a move it said would further dis-incentivise risk-taking by commercial banks.
A number of significant changes are being introduced as part of the new regime, the bank said, while the central bank will continue to be responsible for "organising and implementing" it, and will retain the authority to activate the scheme.
