Legislation passed by the Italian parliament in August could have "important effects" on Italy's non-performing loans (NPLs), a paper published in the Bank of Italy's Notes on Financial Stability and Supervision says.

In The changes of the Italian insolvency and foreclosure regulation adopted in 2015, Monica Marcucci, Alessandra Pischedda and Vincenza Profeta outline the main provisions of the recent reform, modelled partly on UK legislation.
