A change to the National Bank of Poland's mandate would be "illegal", the central bank's governor, Marek Belka, has said in response to calls by politicians in the country's governing party for measures to boost growth.
Poland's elections on October 25 resulted in the election of the Law and Justice Party, after it fought the election on a platform combining social conservatism with populist economics.
