EBA report identifies issues stemming from use of macro-prudential tools to date

Use of macro-prudential tools may require some refinement

European use of macro-prudential tools to date has thrown up a range of issues around their calibration and interaction with other policies, a report published on July 21 by the European Banking Authority (EBA) has found.

The report presents the results of a stock-take of countries' implementation and use of tools under Europe's capital requirements framework, with the aim of identifying the interaction of macro and micro instruments, and cooperation between and within jurisdictions.
