FCA director says breakdown in controls led to communications blunder

Adamson warns FCA against being 'too aggressive' in comms

The communications blunder at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) was a result of a breakdown in controls at "multiple places" in the organisation, according to its director of supervision, Clive Adamson.

In March, some FCA employees held a ‘pre-briefing' with a UK journalist that led to the publication of sensitive information. Adamson appeared before the Treasury Select Committee today (December 16) to discuss the event.
