Basel Committee chair: financial crisis ‘still ongoing'
Consistent implementation of global standards is key to supporting effective supervision and realising the full benefits of Basel III, Basel Committee chair and Riksbank governor Stefan Ingves said yesterday at a meeting of the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas in Lima, Peru.
With the Basel Committee having "largely completed" its post-crisis reform agenda, Ingves noted, "regulators as well as supervisors are now accountable for the outcomes produced by the raft of new rules".
