US Senator: leaked recordings suggest ‘basic lack of truthful reporting’

Elizabeth Warren, a member of the US Senate's banking committee, is looking to apply pressure to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York following claims that it failed to meaningfully supervise the country's biggest banks, saying tapes leaked earlier this week suggest a "basic lack of truthful reporting" at the bank.

Warren, a senator from Massachusetts and a former Harvard law professor, last week called for Congressional oversight hearings into alleged supervisory mismanagement at the New York
