There is a case for reviewing the governance structure of public sector banks (PSBs) in India, the country's central bank said today, and subjecting them to the requirements of market discipline.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) insisted the country's financial system "remains stable" in its latest financial stability report, published today, but noted the banking sector is "facing some major challenges, mainly relating to public sector banks".
