Estonian governor says ECB supervision poses Nordic and Baltic challenge
The advent of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM) poses a "new challenge" for the "co-operation framework" between the Nordic and Baltic countries, according to Bank of Estonia governor Ardo Hansson.
Estonia is one of the eurosystem's 17 members. Consequently its three "most significant" credit institutions – DNB Bank, SEB Pank and Swedbank – will be subject to direct supervision by the forthcoming Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM).
