Bank of England - Agents’ summary of business conditions (January 2011)

Severe weather conditions lowered the growth rate of household spending in the month to late December, the Bank of England's Agents' summary of business conditions for January, published on Wednesday, said.

The report, based on Bank agents' conversations with business contacts between late November 2010 and late December 2010, said the particularly severe weather experienced in December had reduced the value of sales somewhat, with consumer services more adversely affected than retail sales
