The IFF China Report 2021
Insight and perspectives from the world’s leaders, premier policy-makers and financiers
The Belt and Road Initiative
Over the past seven years, China has invested billions in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in which there are now more than 140 participating countries. While a number of projects were put on hold as governments grappled with the economic fallout of the pandemic, the BRI has the opportunity to help numerous countries emerge from the crisis stronger. Leading Chinese and international policy-makers explain how BRI projects continue to evolve in scope and focus, and why green investment is now in focus. This section includes the annual survey of central banks in jurisdictions participating in the BRI – almost all respondents to which expect BRI projects to contribute to post-Covid-19 recovery.
