
De La Rue agrees to £263m takeover by US group
Banknote maker rejects last-minute counterbid in favour of cash offer

De La Rue has agreed to a takeover bid worth £263 million by US private equity firm Atlas Holdings.
The banknote manufacturer said today (April 15) that the offer by Atlas, which amounted to £1.30 a share, was “fair and reasonable” and its directors had unanimously recommended that its shareholders accept it.
De La Rue later said it had received a counterbid from two companies, Disruptive Capital and Pension Superfund Capital. The duo’s debt-funded approach would have amounted to an offer of £1
