SNB launches next new banknote alongside updated app

New 20-franc note incorporates the theme of light not only in design but also in identification of security features

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) launched the second banknote in its new ‘The many faces of Switzerland’ series into circulation today (May 17).

Focusing on the motif of ‘light’, the new 20-franc ($20.25) banknote depicts Switzerland’s creativity. For design continuity, it has remained primarily red in colour – the rest of the denominations will also retain their existing colour schemes.
