Sarb seeks release of banknotes from detained plane
Aircraft detained in Zimbabwe after discovery of dead body
The South African Reserve Bank (Sarb) is working with authorities in Zimbabwe to have a consignment of banknotes released, after the plane transporting them was detained following the discovery of a dead body.
In a statement released on February 16, the bank acknowledged it was aware an undisclosed proportion of banknotes was being held after its plane was stopped in Harare. The person is thought to be a stowaway.
