Dombret says ‘significant’ rise in lending would set off alarm bells
Prices in Germany have "not yet moved away from fundamentals" despite a sharp increase in house prices, according to Andreas Dombret, a Deutsche Bundesbank executive board member.
Speaking at a Czech National Bank conference earlier this week, Dombret expressed concern over the side effects of a prolonged period of low interest rates – although he was quick to stress that the European Central Bank's monetary policy stance was "certainly adequate".
