New York Fed's Dudley lists presidential attributes
New York Fed president William Dudley told the American Economic Association 2014 Annual Meeting, held last week in Philadelphia, that you don't have to be an economist to lead his organisation, but "having a very strong research group is essential".
Dudley said that of the past five occupants of his position – Paul Volcker, Gerald Corrigan, William McDonough, Timothy Geithner and Dudley himself – not all have been economists, but they have all "been very effective."
