Fed’s Fisher attacks ‘ineffective’ US government

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas president, Richard Fisher, today slammed the United States government for playing a "counter-cyclical, suppressive" role in the economic recovery.

Speaking in Sydney after meeting Reserve Bank of Australia governor Glenn Stevens, Fisher said the US economy is "hog-tied" by an "ineffective government... that has not been able to agree on a budget in five years".
