The Financial Stability Board (FSB) is an "efficient and inclusive" international organisation that is capably of "nimbly" co-ordinating global reforms, according to Lawrence Schembri, a Bank of Canada deputy governor.

Schembri, in his first speech since being appointed deputy in February, said the FSB, which is chaired by his former boss Mark Carney, is an organisation "like no other" as it is equipped with limited resources – around 25 full time staff – and has a low international profile.
