Danish governor wants increased long-term financing for housing market

Nils Bernstein, governor of the National Bank of Denmark, called for greater use of long-term financing by mortgage lenders in a speech delivered on March 29.
Addressing the Danish mortgage banks federation, the governor highlighted the potential benefits of two-tier mortgages and greater use of longer-term financing options for mortgage lenders as a way of reducing the effects of short-term financial market shocks on the wider property market.
