Bank of Italy’s Visco says Europe needs long term debt resolution plan

Ignazio Visco, the deputy director general of the Bank of Italy, on 26 October said a debt resolution mechanism in Europe requires the backing of voters for a smooth fiscal sustainability plan.

At an event in Rome, Visco said: "Asking voters to agree on fiscal consolidation packages without convincing them of their advantages is not straightforward.
