IMF’s Strauss-Kahn: unemployment bears grave social costs
Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the managing director of the IMF, on Monday said the financial crisis will not be over until employment recovers and warned of the prospect of a lost generation.
"We must not underestimate the daunting prospect we face: a lost generation, disconnected from the labor market, with a progressive loss of skills and motivation," Strauss-Kahn said in his keynote address to the Oslo Conference, co-sponsored by the International Labour Organisation.
