Ireland’s Honohan talks about new capital adequacy requirements

Patrick Honohan, the governor of the Central Bank of Ireland, on 16 July outlined new capital requirements for Ireland's banks, in the central bank's 2009 Annual Report.

In the first publication to combine both the annual reports of both the Central Bank and Financial Regulator, Honohan said the failures of the banking system had "rocked the economy" and had a severe impact on all members of society.
