Shirakawa stresses importance of co-operation

Speaking at the Symposium at Jackson Hole, Wyoming, on 22 August, Masaaki Shirakawa, the governor of the Bank of Japan, underlined the importance of the co-ordination of policy among central banks as they attempt to respond to and stave off financial crisis "in an organised way and without external pressure".
